Cylinder replacement in Geneva, day and night

The cylinder — the barrel your key turns in — is the part that decides who gets into your home. Misplaced keys, a barrel that spins without engaging, a key that keeps getting stuck: we replace it on site in about thirty minutes, without touching the rest of the lock.

Call-outs 24/7 across the canton, price announced on the phone and confirmed before anything is taken apart.

When the cylinder needs replacing

Lost or stolen keys. A new cylinder makes every existing copy useless. It's the fastest and cheapest way to take back control of your access.

Moving in. Previous occupants, tradespeople, helpful neighbours: there's no way to know how many copies are out there. A new barrel resets the counter to zero.

Key broken in the barrel. We extract the fragment; if the internal mechanism is marked, the cylinder is replaced straight away, in a single visit.

A worn-out barrel. A key that catches, needs forcing or comes out with difficulty is a jam waiting to happen. Better to replace it now than to call for a door opening at midnight.

How we work

1

On the phone, describe the situation or send a photo of the cylinder by WhatsApp: you get a firm price, not an elastic range.

2

The locksmith first checks that the cylinder really is the problem. If it comes from the mechanism, they honestly steer you towards a repair or a lock replacement.

3

Removal, fitting of a new cylinder to the right size, test with every new key in front of you. All without damage to the door or the lock.

Cylinder FAQ

Your questions about cylinder replacement

If the key is the problem but the handle and locking work fine, only the cylinder is at fault. If the door doesn't close properly or the bolt sticks, it's the mechanism, and a lock replacement may be needed. In both cases, the call-out and opening flat rate starts from CHF 120, with an extra hour from CHF 99 if the work runs long, and parts are quoted before fitting. The locksmith decides on site and confirms the price before doing anything.
It depends how much you trust the person: a key can be copied in minutes at any shopping centre. After the end of a lease, a separation or building work where keys were handed over, we recommend replacing it. It's the cheapest job in locksmithing, and it's final.
Yes. A handbag stolen at 11 pm with your keys and ID inside can't wait until morning. Our teams run 24/7 across the canton of Geneva; if an emergency surcharge applies in the middle of the night, you hear it on the call, not when it's time to pay. All our common questions are gathered on the FAQ page.
